Male Eyelid Surgery
A procedure specifically designed for men that takes into account appropriate proportions and structures for male aesthetics. It addresses issues such as drooping eyelids, hooded eyes, and sagging eyelids. The surgery creates a new crease in the upper eyelid. This is achieved through incisions and permanent stitching of the eyelid. Both short and long incision techniques are available, chosen based on individual needs.
Our ophthalmologist will personally assess each case and work with the patient to select the most suitable technique.
In essence, male eyelid surgery is a customized procedure aim to rejuvenate the overall facial look for men which can help to brighten the eyes, improve vision, create a more youthful appearance, boost confidence, and enhance overall attractiveness.

Procedure :
The surgeon first evaluates the patient’s concerns and discusses the best approach to achieve the most satisfactory result. A provisional crease is marked around the eyelid area before surgery. The patient then takes oral medication and topical anaesthetic is applied around the eyes. The resulting scar is hidden within the new eyelid fold, producing a natural look that suits the male peri-orbital anatomy.
Who is double-eyelid surgery suitable for?
Male eyelid surgery is suitable for men of all ages, especially those with the following concerns :
- Have sagging upper lids that begin to obstruct vision as skin loses elasticity with age.
- Carry excess upper-lid skin that causes puffiness, an indistinct crease, hooded lids, or drooping outer corners.
- Have deep-set or small eyes, or a single (monolid) eyelid.
- Show asymmetric creases or a double eyelid that folds inward and is barely visible.
Things to know before do the surgery
- The surgical scar is hidden within the new eyelid crease. Mild pain, swelling, and bruising around the eyes are common (especially during the first 1–2 days) but usually improve on their own with prescribed medication and proper after-care. As healing progresses, the scar gradually fades until it is virtually invisible.
- Final results typically become clear at 6–12 months, depending on the individual. Although the face will continue to change with age, a well-performed double-eyelid procedure provides long-lasting, natural-looking results.
- Post-operative complications are rare, particularly when surgery is performed by an experienced, board-certified ophthalmic surgeon.
Potential complications to be aware of after double-eyelid surgery
- Numbness around the incision.
- Bleeding along the incision line.
- Infection at the surgical site.
- Inability to close the eyes completely.
Dizziness, blurred or hazy vision.
To ensure a safe outcome, always choose a surgeon who is a certified specialist in peri-ocular (eye-area) procedures.
